My DH and I on the 4th of July

I hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July.
This is one of the few pictures of my husband and I
together. We just don't have a lot of pictures
together.....maybe because I'm always behind the
camera and I really don't like having my picture taken
anyway. ;) Our daughter snapped this one last night
at our 4th of July celebration.

A Sneak Peek...........

at my latest project. I am working on making each
of my kids a binder full of our family favorite recipes.
When they get a place of their own I will give it to
them as a housewarming gift. This is just a few of
the pages in the main dish / meat section.

This is more of a layout :) for a tuna casserole recipe.
I used the Cricut Lifes A Beach cartridge for the cuts.
This is one of my all time favorite cartridges....Sooo Much Fun!
I added lots of ink and stickles for bling. Paper for all pages below
is a mix of Wausau, DCWV, Paper Trey Ink, Making Memories and
misc brands from my stash.

Another close up

I like how this turned out....using non traditional
colors for the pig. Pig is from the Cricut Animal Kingdom
cartridge. The second page will have a picture of my son
making ham salad and on my daughters I will just do some journaling.
Border punch is Fiskars Apron Lace.

This is more of an old fashioned page. The
background paper reminds me of kitchen
wall paper.

Pages with journaling tags, ribbon, & buttons.

Some of my favorite pages from the DCWV kitchen stack.
I just love the colors and print. I am trying to include different stories
about some of the recipes. Hopefully preserving lots of memories.

There will be lots more to come. I plan to post
pictures of each section as I get them completed.
Once finished I will post pictures of the completed
album. TFL!

A New Face for my blog

Hey everyone, hope you are all having a great weekend. I have been busy updating the look of my blog today. Thanks to the Cutest Blog on the Block it was super easy to do. When I saw this background with the cherries I new it was for me and for more than one reason. I love it's shabby chic look and frayed edges, but it also reminds me of being in the kitchen on the farm. The blue with the bright red cherries just say's country to me. For the past week we have been harvesting wheat so I have been in the kitchen all week making meals to take to the field. Only my kitchen is decorated in green with red apples and roosters. Anyway, I like how it turned out. What do you think? Now that harvest is almost over I hope to get back to scrapping and hopefully can post some new creations soon.

Yeah, I received another blog award from my fellow
blogger and messageboard friend Lynn. Thank you Lynn!!!

http://beautifuldelightsblog.blogspot.com/

My First Blog Award....Yeah!!!

Yeah, I received my first blog award.....Thanks Lynn! That was very sweet of you. http://beautifuldelightsblog.blogspot.com/2009/06/more-blog-awardsyippee.html

Now I am supposed to pass this on to 15 other bloggers that I've recently discovered. Problem is I think most of the blogs I've recently started following already received this award ahead of me so hope I don't reaward it to anybody, lol.

Here are the rules:

1) Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award, and his or her blog link.

2) Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you’ve newly discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.

Well I didn't do so well, but here are four wonderful blogs that I just started following. Be sure to check them out.

A two page celebrate / birthday layout.
This project was so much fun and I am happy
with the end result. Hope you like it too. :)

A close up of my little turtle making
it's way to the party.
