Sneak Peek - Adding Pages to Baby Onesie Album and a Super Cute Party Hat ...

About a year ago I made this onesie album.  You can see lots of pictures HERE.  Now I am working on additional pages to add to the album.  This brings up one small issue that could have been avoided ... When I made the album I was not thinking ahead to adding additional pages.  Here is how I did the last page/back cover of the album ...
I added images to the last page and I should have made the last page a cover only.  The back cover is done in paper that matches the front cover, but I can't keep moving the cover back as I add pages because the bed page matches the page in front of it.  Does that make sense?  If I was to do it again I would not add any die cuts to the inside of the back cover.  It would be a cover only.  Then I could simply keep moving the cover back as I added pages and the back of the album would always match the front cover.  The paper I  used has been discontinued or I would just buy more and make another cover.  Hopefully this post will help others not to make the same mistake I did.

I am working on additional pages ... it's just the back cover will no longer match the front cover. :(  I will probably make it a pretty shade of pink.  Actually I just got a DCWV fabric stack and I might try to cut that on the Cricut and make it a fabric cover.

Now why was I making a post about all this ... oh yeah I wanted to show you a sneak peak of one of the pages, lol.  Well really it's just a die cut I made that will go on one of the pages.  I love how it turned out and couldn't wait to get the rest of it done before showing you a small peek.
This picture does not do it justice, but it really is adorable ... if I do say so myself, lol. ;)  It is a party hat from the Cricut Celebrations cartridge that has been embellished with machine stitching, yarn fibers and a little button to top it off.

The pages I'm working on are for a cupcake themed birthday.  There are going to be lots of cute die cuts for these pages and a super adorable banner.  More to come ... soon.  TFL!

EXPLOSION BOX - Very Quick & Basic Tutorial

Example of a finished box.  For a better look ... click on pics to enlarge.
Score a 12x12 sheet of cardstock at 4" & 8".  Rotate cardstock a quarter turn and  score again at 4" & 8".

You should end up with nine 4" squares
Next you need to cut out the four corner squares

This is what you will end up with

Fold the sides on the score lines to form your box.  If you want to add a different color to the inside of your box ... repeat the steps above with cardstock of choice and glue the two boxes together.  I find Fabri-Tac adhesive works well when doing this.

For the box lid I cut a 5 1/4" square and score it at a 1/2" all the way around.  Notice the little squares on each of the four corners.  You do not want to cut those squares out, but rather on one side cut up to the 1/2" score line.
Now you can fold on the score lines and glue your little flaps to secure the lid.

You should end up with something like this.  Mine in the photo is not actually glued since it is only for this tutorial.
