Preserves Cards with Fruity Sentiments

I am still loving the Preserves Cricut cartridge.  Rather than searching for the perfect stamps with fruit sentiments I made my own on the computer.  I love doing it this way as you can pick the perfect font, size, color and saying to match your card.  More information and basic details below.

All cardstock is from Papertrey Ink, with the exception of the white.  Preserves is the only Cricut cartridge needed.  Extras...ribbon, ink, pens, border punch, embossing & Stickles.

To get the perfect A2 size card cut an 8.5 x 11 sheet of cardstock in half and fold for the base of your card.  Basic recipe for each card is as follows...

 Apple Card

Base - Ripe Avacado
Mat - Pure Poppy
Apple - Cut @ 2 1/2" from Spring Moss
Flower on apple - Ripe Avacado & Pure Poppy
Ribbon - Pure Poppy also from PTI

Cherries

Base - Spring Moss
Mat - Pure Poppy & True Black, White
Cherries - Cut @ 2" from Pure Poppy, Spring Moss, & New Leaf
Border Punch black cardstock with Fiskars Apron Lace Punch
Ribbon - New Leaf also from PTI

Plums

Base - Ripe Avacado
Mat - Chocolate, Scarlet Jewel, & White
Plums cut @ 2" & 2 1/4" from Scarlet Jewel, leaves on this card are from green cardstock from my stash.  Flowers are from Lemon Tart & Chocolate.
Fiskars scallop border punch
Lemon Tart ribbon is also PTI

Peach

Card Base -  Scarlet Jewel
Mat - Spring Moss & Scarlett Jewel
Peach - Cut @ 3" from Summer Sunrise & Ripe Avacado
Flower on peach - Melon Berry
Ribbon - Melon Berry from PTI
Cinnamon Stickles

Sunny Days Shape Album Featuring the Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge

After doing the volcano album I was itching to get back to my style of an album. I just love the story type albums. Create a Critter is the perfect cartridge for such an album...I love it! I seemed to have the perfect paper for this album, too. The clouds are from K&Company and most of the glittered cardstock is from DCWV. Face on sun is a stamp from Peachy Keen. Tree is embossed with the Victoria Cuttlebug folder. Extra's include Glossy Accents, Stickles, Liquid Applique and ink. Bound album with the BIA and covered the wires with ribbon. Cut file now posted on the left side of my blog under free cut files, Enjoy

Cut file links now working. :) Still a problem with Windows7 as I was able to post working links from my old laptop. Anyone else having issues with Windows7?

Cricut Create A Critter - Volcano Shaped Album

A simple shaped album using the volcano cut from the Create A Critter cartridge. Also used George & Basic Shapes. Welded in design studio. The cover of the album folds open to reveal more photo mats. My dino's cheeks are a little bolder than I had intended. You can also add a lot more pages to this album as I only added a few.

Scroll down left side of my blog for the free cut file, Enjoy!

Chipboard Now Available...

For those interested I now have 12x12 sheets of chipboard available. This chipboard is what I think to be the perfect thickness for wordbooks, shape albums, faux chipboard letters and such. It is thick enough to be sturdy yet you can cut it with the normal Cricut blade. With a good blade you may not even have to use the multi cut feature or maybe multi cut 1. It cuts very clean and easy so it should not be hard on your machine. This chipboard also has a very smooth texture so it should be fairly easy on your Cricut mats. Some chipboard can be very fuzzy and make a mess of your mats, but not the case with this chipboard. Please note...To the best of my knowledge this chipboard is NOT acid free. I'm not even sure if they make an acid free chipboard? Since I cover it with cardstock it does not worry me, but I do want you to know in case you think different.

Edited to add...this chipboard measures .022 thickness.

Price & Shipping...The chipboard is .25 a sheet plus actual shipping. This is what I found on shipping......The large flat rate box is $14.50 and will hold 200 sheets of chipboard. The non flat rate box will hold 100 plus sheets and will be based on your zip code and the weight of the package.

EDIT...I just added a Paypal button for the chipboard. If you order 50 or more sheets it is cheaper to go flat rate. If anyone wants less...send me an email with your zip & how many sheets and I will get you a quote... bugjunkie@live.com.

Disclaimer...this is only my opinion regarding this chipboard. I love it and it works great for me. Every Cricut machine and every blade seems to cut a little different. Know this is only what I've found in my own personal use. Again I want to remind you...I do not believe this chipboard is acid free. Please email me with any questions. Thanks!

Families Are Forever...Adorable Layout Using Just Because Cards

This cartridge will help you create the most adorable layouts. OMG...I love it! All cuts are from JBC with the exception of the fence...My Community & the cattails are from Give A Hoot. The flowers on the fence are a Martha Stewart punch. Everything else is Just Because. I thought about making this a two page LO, but really like how it turned out as a one pager. : ) I just love the little family of ducks. Ok, I love most everything on this cartridge. FYI...the pond was made with the fried egg cut on JBC. ; )

It's been requested that I post the size of cuts used. Here's what I have.
Pond - 12"..............Lg. tree - 10" & flipped.............Sm. tree - 6"..............Ducks - 4", 3 1/2" & 3" and one small duck is flipped..........Canoe - 1" (yes the canoe cuts really big).........Lg. photo mat - 6"...Sm. photo mat - 4". Fence was welded in DS and is about 1 1/4" tall. I apologizeI do not remember what size I cut the cattails or the bees. HTH

Chipboard Update & A Few Other Things...

I have chipboard and will be offering it soon. I would like to get a video so you can "see" the chipboard. What I love about this chipboard is...the texture is smooth so it's easy on your Cricut mats. It's the perfect thickness or at least I think so. Thick enough to be sturdy yet it can be cut with the regular blade. However, I do not believe it is acid free. I cover my chipboard with cardstock so that does not matter to me, but it may you. My shipping boxes just came in yesterday and once I find the most economical way to package it for you I will get it posted here on my blog.

I'm going to a crop this weekend! It is for the Kyrie Foundation. Kyrie is a little girl that lost her battle with brain cancer. Her parents have done many wonderful things to raise awareness and money for this cause, including an annual or maybe biannual crop. Such a touching story.

I just found out an employee from K&Comany is going to be at the crop and they would like some feedback on things we scrappers and crafters would like to see in the future. Post your suggestions here and I will take them with me. : )

Lastly...I am working on a layout with the new Just Because Cards Cricut cartridge. OMG...I Love this cartridge. Much better than Wild Card...I think. Anyway...I can't wait to finish this LO so I can post it for you. The images are soooo cute! I am taking DD to lunch then I hope to get home and get busy. I can't wait for you to see it! : )

Cricut Preserves...Fruitful Cards

Here are a couple of simple cards made with the Cricut Preserves cartridge. The watermelon one reminds me of my grandma as she used to make watermelon rind pickles...so I get the marinated with the watermelon, but some may not.

Simple Card With Sweethearts Cricut Cartridge

I've been busy and not had time to get anything posted for you so I thought you might enjoy this cute, but simple card that my daughter Kara made today. The only Cricut cartridge needed for this card is SH.

I feel lucky to have a DD to share my space with. If only she would do it more often. I've tried to get her to help me with a video or two, but can't seem to talk her in to it...yet. ; )
