The Night Before Christmas Shape Book

Finally.......here is the Christmas Book I've been working on.
To me there is nothing like an old fashioned Christmas. Back
when times were much slower paced and life was simple or at least
it seemed that way. When you look at this book I hope it brings back
many happy memories of Christmas past.

Many Cricut cartridges were used and I hope I can remember them all.
I will abbreviate them so ask for the full name of the cartridge if
you need to......CC, JOTS, Christmas Noel, GBS, keystone, PDDU, DC, ACY.....I think
that's all of them. For embellishments I used Stickles, liquid applique, rhinestones, glitter pen, embossing on the Cuttlebug. Click on pictures
to enlarge. Enjoy!

Santa has landed on the roof and is getting to
his work when he hear's footsteps coming down
the stairs.

It looks like Santa's hiding behind the Christmas
tree.

I love the red stripe paper behind the little girl
as it reminds me of wallpaper.

When you're out in the snow looking in, it looks
so cozy.

How sneaky can she be?

Even the little mouse is trying to get a peek at
Santa.

The stockings are hung by the chimney with care.

So did Santa get caught filling the tree with gifts?

Looks like he's checking his list twice. Have you
been naughty or nice?

This is looking at the backside of a page.
I really like the look of using the same paper
from the background and matting it for a
photo mat.

  11. Lorrie..........ROTFLMBO, but if I ever make it "rich" on my work, I'll remember you for sure, LOL!!!!!! You are so kind!

Thank you to everyone for all the kind wonderful remarks.

Betty, this book took about a week and a half working on it here and there. If I could have stayed after it I would say 3 or 4 days from start to finish. You get so involved in them that you truly loose track of time. :)

  37. I love this word book, however I am unable to open it in design studio. Any ideas on how to solve this problem as I'd love to make this book for my family.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Sarah, the cut file is posted on the left side of my blog with all of my cut files. :)

Judith, have you updated your Cricut and DS with the latest updates. Because the file uses A Childs Year cartridge, you have to have everything updated or it will not open correctly. Try that and let me know if you are still having problems.

  39. This is so fantastic! Wonderful Wonderful! I need to get me a SCAL!! : )

  40. Beautiful. I just found your blog through
the message board. Love your work. What
    cartridge is ACY.

  41. SnapWhiz...you need design studio, not SCAL. :)

    Shirley...ACY is A Childs Year.

    Thank you All!

  42. This is absolutely stunning! I saw it several week ago and it inspired me to do one for SCAL. I do not have all the cartridges or design studio to do this, so I had to give it a go on my own. I am almost finished with my book and wanted to take a moment to say thank you so much for the inspiration!!! I hope to post this tomorrow. I'll be sure to put it up on the Cricut board too and give you credit for the inspo. I just love all of your work and this is incredible!!!! Thank you!!!! Merry Christmas!

  45. What a beautiful book! It makes me feel like a kid again by just looking at it! I do have a question though; what cartridge did you find the teddy bear that sits by the Christmas tree?

  46. This book is awesome! I have seen many mini's but this by far is the best I love, love, love this book. All of the intricate parts are so clever, you did not leave a detail out. I especially like the child going down the stairs and Santa behind the tree and, and, and. I could go on and on about the parts I like. What I really do like that makes this extra special is that it does tell a story of a Christmas past, an "Old Fashioned Christmas".
