Laundry Today or Naked Tomorrow Sign

I just finished making this sign for a customer.  It's 4' long...so kind of hard to get a good picture.  It's lightly distressed giving it just a hint of shabby.  :)

Faux Windows

Here's a couple of faux windows I just completed.  The fall one is listed in my Etsy shop.  I love the addition of burlap to the love frame.  It really helps the words to standout.

For the "glass" I used Better Than Acrylic.  You can read more about the original BTA HERE.  For my faux glass windows... I used a heavier grade than the original that I use when cutting it on a die cutting machine.  I am contemplating offering the heavier grade BTA for your window and frame needs.  You can use the original, but I've found if the frame is on the larger side, the original flexes a bit too much.  The heavier is more solid like glass.  I love that it is So Crystal Clear, it won't crack or break and it's so easy to work with!  It does Wonderful with vinyl which makes me Happy! :)

If this is a product you might be interested in... please leave me a comment and let me know. :)

Rustic Door - Praise Him in the Hallway

I was asked to create a door with the quote - Until God opens the next door, Praise him in the hallway.

Here's my take on it...

Love the rustic, distressed charm of this door.  So shabby chic!

The ornate hardware and ribbon add a touch of vintage softness.  To me the key is a subtle reminder that we need to wait for God to open the next door and not try to do it on our own.

Gotta love big rustic hinges.  They remind me of something you might find on an old barn door or farm shed.

I will be offering these in my shop on a made to order basis... Been There Salvaged That

My Old Window Found a Home

In case you forgot how the window looked when I found it...

Now a focal point above our television...

One of these days I need to paint the table our electronics sit on.  Ohhh...one of these days, lol!
I used my Silhouette to cut out the word, "Family" and added a small heart for an extra touch.

For the Love of Old Windows

One of my favorite treasure hunt finds is a good old window.  Even more exciting if the old hardware is still attached. :)

It's surprising how well all the years of gunk and grime wash away with a little elbow grease.  Such a good feeling to bring a piece of time gone by, back to life.
I used my Silhouette to create the word "family" and added the heart for a special touch.  It will hang in the living/family room.

Sometimes time is short and I don't always get all my projects and vintage finds posted to my blog.  Be sure to check out my facebook  page to see more...  Been There Salvaged That

From Picture Frame to Magnetic Board

A new look for an old thrift store frame.  It was missing the glass and painted gold.  I spray painted it ivory and added a piece of sheet steel to the back to make a framed magnetic board.  The metal flower magnets are the icing on the cake...so cute!  I will use the frame to hold a snapshot.
Please feel free to visit my FB page and follow along if you like... Been There Salvaged That.

Laundry Room Signs & Clothesline Banner

I love shabby, chippy, painted wood signs for decorating.  So much fun!  Here is one I made for my laundry room.  Along with a cute little clothesline topper.
As you can see, I have very bright aqua walls.  Nice and cheery, but hard to find the right wall decor.  I should have painted the walls a neutral color and accented with aqua like I did in the kitchen...sigh.   Since I don't like to paint they will probably be bright aqua for a good while.  :)

Here is one I made for my Etsy shop
You can find it HERE

Chalkboard with Chippy Metal and Wood Hooks...Repurposed from Cabinet Doors

Here is another chalkboard with hooks.  This one is a completely different flair that the one I made for Kara.  Hers is more vintage while this one is a trendy shabby chic with a touch of vintage.  She put hers in her bathroom and uses it to hold her everyday jewelry.  I'm sure she leaves plenty of sweet notes for a special someone on the chalkboard, too. ;)

This board just listed in my Etsy shop HERE.  To see more fun projects be sure to like my FB page, Been There Salvaged That... HERE.

New Projects...

I can't believe I haven't posted anything since 2013!  That doesn't seem possible and proves that time really does fly.  I can't say I've done much paper crafting, but I've been busy crafting and repurposing all sorts of other things.  I find my Cricut and Silhouette sure come in handy for this.  I still love paper crafting and will find time to squeeze it in...eventually.  :)

For now I wanted to share some of the things I've been working on.  Some of the items are for myself and some of them I have listed in my Etsy shop which can be found HERE .  I'm also working on a new Facebook page called... Been There Salvaged That.  I would love to have you like my page.  You can view it HERE .  It's a page I'm doing for fun...where I hope to share projects and ideas as well as some of the items listed in my Etsy shop.

For now here is a glimpse of a few of my projects...

I made this chalkboard with hooks for Kara.  She's hanging it in her bathroom to hang her necklaces and such on.  I love the items I repurposed as hooks.  Makes it one of a kind. :)  The chalkboard is just the right size to leave a daily reminder or note.
I have enough boards to make two more of these.  The challenge is finding cute hooks or items that can be used as hooks.  Once I do I will make them and list them in my Etsy shop.

My cast iron paper towel holder.
Oh, how I wish I had before pictures of this.  It was black and yellow with a multicolored ceramic rooster on the top.  Cute in it's day, but it was time for a redo.
I love how it turned out!  I painted it and sanded some of the black back through.  Then I replaced the old rooster with this pretty medallion/knob combo.
It's one of my favorite redo's!

I painted this cute little glass bottle turned vase for my kitchen window sill.  All it needs now is some spring blooms.

Here are a few items you can find in my Etsy shop...

A vintage metal bin turned Kcup holder

A cabinet door turned magnetic memo board/recipe holder.

Another cabinet door makeover with a shabby chic metal cross.

Thanks so much for looking!
