Happy New Year!!!

Just wanted to wish everyone a Safe and Happy New Year. I also wanted to let you know about the celebration going on over at http://treasurebookcreations.com/ . It starts at 7:00 tonight and is going to be an entire evening of fun, games, and giveaways. You need to have a twitter account to join in. Twitter only takes a minute or less to join so don't let that stop you. We may go out for a little while, but I hope to get in on some of the fun. Happy New Year!!!

Glass Etched Goodies Jar using the Cricut - Video

Things that are not on the video:

1. Leave etching cream on at least 45 minutes. ( Edit.....see tip from LorraineB in comments. It sounds like if you get a good thick coat of cream on your design, you only have to leave it about 15 minutes). Just play with it and see what works for you.
2. Etching cream will not wipe off. Wash cream
off under running water.
3. The brown on my jar was done with Elmer's
fine tip painter pens.

Cricut cartridges used: PSB, PDDU, & MTG.
Cartridge abbreviation list can be found on the
left hand side of my blog.

Be sure to watch both videos part 1 & 2 to see project from
start to finish.

Getting Ready for Christmas

Just for fun here are a few pics of my kids getting
ready for Christmas. May you all have a happy &
blessed holiday season.

Kara making truffles & bon bons

So this is why they taste so good. You have to
sing into the spatula when making them. : ) If
she only knew I posted this pic for all to see, LOL!!!!

Kara & Brent getting ready for Christmas Eve
dinner. We had a quite evening at home this
year and it was nice. It's very cold and windy
here and a good night to stay in.

Brent patiently waiting to dig in. : )

Enjoying the Christmas tree and waiting for Santa.
Ok, Santa doesn't come to our house anymore, but it
sounded good. ; ) Until this year I would get up & fill
the kids stockings, but now I just fill them before we go
to bed, LOL!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!!

Just Checking In

Hi Everyone! I just had to take a minute and check in. I promise I've not deserted my blog completely! : ) As with most of you this is a very busy and crazy time of year. Trying to keep up with work, family, and getting ready for Christmas hasn't left much time for anything else. I will have new videos, but it may be after the holidays. I still plan to show you how to make a shape album and bind it with the Your Story machine. I also promise to show you how to create "snow" on your projects as well as a couple other fun things. Until then may your holiday season be filled with happiness. Merry Christmas!

No More Laptop Issues

Just a quick post to share my excitment......I now have my own laptop! : ) Ok, so most of you have had your own laptop forever, but I have been sharing one with my DH. That was ok until I started using design studio so much. So many times I wanted to create, but he would have the laptop or would be waiting for me to hurry up with it. Well, no more! I bought my own yesterday and I LOVE it! I ended up getting an HP Pavillion Notebook with 4 gig memory so I should never run out of space. It's the perfect size, the screen is 14.5 inches...I think. It also has a slot for my SD card so I don't have to hook up my camera to get my pictures.....yeah! Now to get everything transferred over including DS. I will work on that today and will be ready to create soon.....I hope.

I wanted to get a wide format printer as well, but Best Buy didn't have them and I really didn't know what I was looking for anyway. If anyone has any information on a good printer that will run cardstock and thicker paper please do tell. I think I want a wide format that will do up to 12x12, but am open to suggestions as I really know nothing about it.

Thanks for letting me share my excitment!!!! I will have a new project soon. Also the swap albums should be received shortly and I will post lots of pics of my Thanksgiving album as well as a video. : )

My Scrap Space

WOW...it seems like forever since I've posted
something new!! I have been busy reorganizing
my scrap space. I had been so busy creating and
hadn't cleaned it in forever and it showed!! : )

My space is only about 13' x 9' or 10'. I share with
our home office. I would love to have kitchen cabinets
installed with solid counter tops and hope to eventually
do that, but for now this is it.

Overall view of my room

This little set of shelves hold so much. My Cricut
cartridges, Cuttlebug and folders and my clear
stamps.

My JetMax cubes hold my cardstock and paper.
In the drawers are my punches, inks, ribbon and
embellies. Of course there is more cardstock stashed
in some of the drawers.....yes, I'm addicted to cardstock. : )

I use these shelves to hold some of the things I
don't use as often as well as a hodge podge of
things.
I would like to put another small work table in front
of my windows.....I think I will do that soon. I just take
up so much table room when working on a project. : 0 )

My space in the closet. I keep things like my
BIA, heat embosser and misc. items.

Thanks for looking....Hope you like my little corner
of the world! Now that I've got it organized once
again, I'm ready to get back to creating. : )

Christmas Create A Window - Thank You Ginger

I just had to share this Beautiful version
of my Create A Window. It was created
by a wonderful lady named Ginger. She
was kind enough to share it with us. Isn't it
Gorgeous!!! I Love the red bows on the
outside of the window and the big snow
covered tree. The scene in the window
is unbelieveable...I just Love it! The entire
project is Fabulous! Thank You Ginger!!!
Click on pictures to enlarge and see all the
detail she has added.

Here are Ginger's directions:
I did leave it the original size. The carts used were George, Christmas solutions, and A Child's Year (the ball in the window). The tree in the window has been overlayed with branch punches (MS) and decorated with miniture bead trim. I cut all my page overlays from chipboard, not just cardstock. I use ink and markers to do the edges of the pieces.

Chirp Spotlight - The Night Before Christmas Album

I am so excited to have my album as a Chirp
spotlight!!! I have to say, "Thank You" to all of
you that have dropped hints and sent emails
requesting that I be spotlighted in the Chirp.
I appreciate all of you! Also to my good friend
Kristin aka K.McIntyre on the Cricut MB. She is
the one that took the time to compile all of the
information needed and submit it to the Chirp!
Thank you all for this opportunity to be in the
Chirp spotlight.

I am reposting the original thread so it's easy for
everyone to find. Hope you all enjoy a 2nd round. :)

My goal with this book was to tell the story of
The Night Before Christmas. It turned out even
better than I had imagined. : )

Cricut cartridges needed for this book are:
G&BS, CC, CN, JOTS, Keystone, PDDU, DC & ACY.
A list of cartridges and abbreviations can be found in my sidebar.

Santa has landed on the roof.

I think Santa has been caught and is trying to
hide behind the Christmas tree.

Even the little mouse is trying to get a peek.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care.

Santa's going to check his list twice.

Shiny red cardstock is from DCWV. I thought
it was perfect for the sleigh.
