Cricut Imagine - Best Friends Princess Card

Don't worry I promise I will be posting projects made with my Cricut Expression, too.  Right now I'm just exploring the new Imagine and it's possibilities.  I must check out all the new cartridges for it...I just can't resist. ;)  Lots more regular projects to come.

For now here is a cute little princess card made with the Best Friends cartridge.  With the exception of the base of this card and the crown...everything was printed on the Imagine.  To give the dress a little more flair I added sheer dotted ribbon.  Of course you could put a little handbag in her hand to add even more to this card.

Inside of card

A little experiment...full image below was printed on white cardstock.  The image of just the dress was printed on pale pink cardstock to see if it would add more color.  The paper in the background is the pink paper I printed on from Paper Trey Ink.  It did make the top part of the dress a little darker, but there was not a huge difference.  I will play around with this a little more and let you know what I come up with.

  5. Very fun card! The ribbon just looks awesome! In the picture, the colors do look more vibrant on you pink PTI dress, but that could just be the lighting. Thanks for trying that; I've been planning on experimenting with colored paper as well.

  7. That dress is superb.
I like the cards you've been making, but have to say that I'm not impressed with the Imagine ink quality. For me,the colors aren't rich enough to compete with cardstock.
I own an HP portable photo printer that uses Vivera ink and the quality is fantastic. I'm hoping PC and HP boost up the ink - this and a reasonable price will put the Imagine on my wish list.

  8. Thank you everyone!

Jessie...I do know what you're saying about the muted colors, but I think a lot has to do with the cartridges I have. If you look at the snapshot cartridges, the images such as the apples look much brighter and more vibrant. Now I may be wrong, but that's what I'm thinking. I don't have any of those cartridges yet. Cosmo Cricket seems to be more of the vintage images and muted or aged colors.

  9. The way you dressed this princess is fabulous. So much attention to detail. Not just a flip up on card stock! Love the pearls and tiara. Fantastic job. You need to stop, I am starting to have Imagine cravings.
